Have been browsing through this site occassionally, and have found it to be very active and interesting.

QUESTION:
Are their any serious property investors out there under the age of 35 years, who would have nett assets soley in property of between 8 to 10 million.

I am in a similar position and would like to hear from you and exchange ideas and thoughts on property.

Property is my passion!

Well put your email in here and then people will reply to you.

Otherwise now one will, cause we don't know who you are.

For all we know you are just trying to gauge others wealth for the fun of it. And that wouldn't be nice now would it.

Hope to see you back with a name.

Cheers
Robert

Hi

I'm a precocious 12 year old with an IQ of 190 and made BRW's Richest 200 last year through property investment.
Since you've only got a paltry 10 million I doubt that you have anything interesting to say.

Regards, Mike

Come on be nice, this person is entitled to be as visible or invisible as they choose. They might have something valuable to contribute here. I wouldn't be feeling to welcome if I posted and got replies like above.

But Firefrog, at least we know who you are - that anonymous poster didn't leave an email address or a name, and expects people to share details of their net worth (which a lot of people are loathe to discuss) without revealing anything about themselves first.

It's all about trust, and those kinds of questions do not generally get answered lightly.

Trust is a two way street. It requires you to give something up of your own before you can expect someone else to give something up too.

And on the internet it can be extremely difficult to verify whether someone is telling the truth or is who they say they are. So why should people put themselves at potential risk by revealing highly personal information to someone who gives nothing away themselves ?

I agree Sim,
The anon poster doesn't seem to really want any one to disclose major details. I get the impression they just want to know the calibre of the people on the forum.
To the Anon poster it is true people are careful of questions like yours, but hang around, contribute and become part of the fun. This forum is well worth being part of.

Hi Anon,

Come on buddy...get real. If you choose to get on this forum, be invisible, and make such lofty claims, you will have to spill your guts just a tad before you could reasonably expect anyone to even give you a second of their honest thoughts.

8-10 $Mill in net worth through property only? Well, I'm 28, have a high salary ($100K +) have a few IP's and still consider myself a novice. (Well, compared to the likes of Michael Croft, The Wife, GoAnna and Co..) My IP net worth is nowhere near the figures you claim to have reached.

Mate, if I were you, I'd be running seminars and making big $$ telling others how YOU did it...rather than hiding in forums asking others how THEY are doing it.

p.s. Do you have a large nose?

I believe that the people who do seminars are the ones who wish they have done it! they never show independently audited proof., everyone says the same thing, if they were making so much in the market/property then why are you charging so much to tell us how to do it? if i made so much in the market, if someone asked, i would tell them, free of charge.

Personally, i am 26, earning a basic wage of $38K PA, my first unit is valued at $1.15 Million, yet you will never pick me in the street, or in my 86 corolla although the number plate might be a giveaway (it shouldnt be on a corolla) My immediate family owns property in excess of $5M in syd.

My point is, when you show off your wealth, total strangers expect you to tell them how to do it, and claim you OWE them some of it!
At least Mr Kiosaki has 1 point correct, It all comes down to Education, i educated myself. and learned from my mistakes.

That is why i am here, even with a nice unit already, i am still an amature in property investing.
i am also not going to borrow against the unit (it is owned outright) as this goes against my principals and rules, so i am saving a deposit and looking for +ve gearable properties, sadly on my income, i am limited to the $200 K mark, that is the reason for my initial interest in Inner city studios, but with the number of inner city properties going up i am hanging back till at least september.

i made my money in the early days of the tech boom, specialising in investing in IPO's and the unit is a safe place to keep the money safely from the higher risks of the stock market. I only started investing in IPOs after 2 years of study in the IPO process and spotting profitable companies without the hype, but now i want to move into investing in Property, always eager to learn.

I think you are all being a bit harsh on Mr or Mrs anonymous. He/she was here asking a question, sure it was in a rather bland and tasteless manner but he/she has the right to access this forum just as much as anyone.Last time I checked it was a forum run by somersoft.com.au not just a few members who want to keep it an exclusive club. There are many people out there with many personalities and the have the right to write here even if what the are saying is a load of crap. Do us a favour and don't drive people in the outer away(people like me) because we may have something good to say now or in the future that we all can benefit from.
Have a Nice Day.

James, I think you are missing the point slightly.

I think we all respect the rights of people to write and ask questions here.

There is a line of questioning, however, which people must be aware is not particularly conducive to responsiveness.

It is not that a question was asked by someone anonymous, it was the nature of the question.

I am sure many people have no problems sharing very personal details about exactly who they are and how much they are worth. But there are many still who will see that in the same light as a question like "what is the PIN for your ATM card ?".

If you don't see that, then that's great, you are obviously a very trusting person. Personally, even though my net worth is not particularly high (yet), but even more so if my net worth was in the 10s of millions, there is NO WAY I am going to respond to an anonymous post (with no email address or anything) in a public forum about my most intimate personal details.

I was just trying to point out the realities of this to Mr. or Mrs. Anonymous.

I would suggest an alternative line of questioning (my additions in [ ]):

"Have been browsing through this site occassionally, and have found it to be very active and interesting. QUESTION: Are their any serious property investors out there under the age of 35 years, who would have nett assets soley in property of between 8 to 10 million. I am in a similar position and would like to hear from you and exchange ideas and thoughts on property. Property is my passion! " [... if you don't wish to discuss this publicly, you can email me on [email protected], I would love to chat with you !]

At least this way gives us a manner of contacting the person offline.

I am not against Anonymous posting... but I feel my earlier post about trust in relation to this particular type of question is critical.

Hi James,

This is one of the few successful forums going around. It's success is due to the unselfishness of the participants who are willing to share their experiences and knowledge regardless of their level of wealth.

Selfish attitudes like those of Anonymous who is attempting to create an elitist millionaire's club is not welcome on this forum.

Far from being exclusive, this forum has provided many opportunities for members to network.

Since the Forum began, some members have posted more regularly than others and , generally, they have been very helpful. Over time, some of these people disappeared from the forum and, fortunately, others came along to keep the momentum going. Through networking events, casual friendships have naturally formed. As far as I'm aware, their are no exclusive clubs within the forum. If that ever happens, I'll be the first to pack my bags and leave.

Regards, Mike

Sorry GeeCee, for some reason I accidently clicked on your name in the "Attn:" box before posting, and then when I went back to edit the posted message, it wouldn't "un-Attn:" you. Oops.

BTW. this message was deliberately marked Attn: to you ;-)
