Westpac 0.7 discount for loans between 150 to 250

Well you won't get a higher discount but you'll get charged less interest because you're putting the rest in an offset account

I called the Home Loan Retention area and pushed for 0.8% after 3 years with them.
My loan is around $1000 more than $250K

This is their current standard offering, but if you set up the loan several years ago your default discount would have been 0.7%. Most people never bother to do this and banks rely on peoples lazyness to avoid giving them a good deal. Kudos for getting them to bring your rate in line with the current offer. :)

Borrowing a bit more won't really do anything for you as the next price point is substantially more than $250k. You've actually currently got a fairly good deal when comparing to compeditors. I'm not sure why Aaron says you'll pay less interest if you're essentially borrowing the same amount. :(

yes i have under 250k loans but with a revalue and drew out the equity and set it up in a separate split loan and it now puts me over the 250k loan limit so i get the extra discount
