"what were thy thinking" reno photos

LOL! That reminds me of the bathroom in our first PPOR although a much more modern version. The floor and shower was dark blue small tiles, similar to the ones in the picture. The vanity consisted of a bench that went from one side of the room to the other, tiled in the same tiles with a red curtain below it. Shower curtain, soap holders etc were red. The walls & ceiling was solid wood panelling, like a sauna.

skater, that kind of thing you just described was pretty popular in the early 1970's. My guess is that the designers of the day were suffering some kind of drug-induced brain damage from too many LSD trips  but they did bring some colour to the world :p

There were thinking (afterwards) that they should have paid more attention to the saying 'blue and green should never be seen'
lol

This thread will quickly fail unless people copy photos directly into this thread as, as soon as the house is sold the photos will go.

But as a side note... I think that bathroom is funky!! Wouldn't choose it as a permanent thing but I think it's great for a holiday rental! Why not! We need colour in our lives!!

(And that is why I am not an interior decorator :) )

Here is the photo. It is so frustrating when start reading and the link has disappeared:(

I managed a unit for a gay couple when i was in Property management and they had done a beautiful reno to the kitchen and had large feature tiles of the beach in the splash back... i didn't notice until i was doing a routine inspection with one of the tenants and they pointed out to me that the feature tiles featured only men - all naked and somewhat 'involved'....

Please, don't get me wrong. I don't want tiles like that, or to even see them for that matter. But....where on earth would one find something like that?

Regarding the blue laminate kitchen..... "When you want a change and don't want blue laminate any more, you can simply poke your eyes out" :D.

Sorry it's not a bathroom reno, it's a pub currently being built in Brisbane.. No doubt there will be lots of tradies wanting go there. Not sure if the architect got confused between doing this and another one of his jobs for the wiggles

The plus point I see with that bathroom fo blue and green is the toilet is close by for people to throwup in!!

I have no idea ...having never shopped for gay porno tiles before in my life. I did have a close up pic on my phone for a while but no longer... been looking through our archives for it as well but no luck yet.

well i found a kitchen shot thanks to RP data... dont worry not to graphic... but you get the idea...

hee hee, this is a good thread.
Though I don't actually hate that blue kitchen.

Here are a couple of 'before' photos taken in what is now the guest bedroom of our PPOR.
The dark blue and orange wall/cornice combination alternated like this around the room. Formally a bedroom for a teenage boy, I can only speculate that there must be a footy team with these colours. I can't imagine how anyone could have slept in this room.
