Hi all,

I suggest we call our venue "Sydney Somersoft Forum", any other suggestions?

Well, as this is an event for all Sydney forumites, we would like to get everyone to vote for their preferred day and location for the venue. :D

One thing you need to make clear first yuch... what is the purpose of the gathering ??

If it is an informal social networking gathering, then pubs and the like are fine - and weekends are possibly better.

Alternatively, if it is to be a more structured meeting with discussion topics and guest speakers, then a different type of venue would be better, and weekdays might be better.

Don't like "Sydney Somersoft Forum" it too close to the online thing. Why not call ourselves B.I.G.G.E.R (Better Investor Group Getting Every Rebate )

Jas

Why not Bankstown sports club.

Great atmosphere, good food, cheap drinks & private rooms available if required plus lots of pokies for people who want to pretend they are at the casino :)

The casino is a real dive.

Cheers,

Aceyducey

Thanks Sim.

This is for social events only.

If we are going to have a speaker, we probably prefer some function room with a whiteboard like a function room in a RSL Club?

You forget, we may only be B.I.G. but we are also...

F.I.R.S.T !!!

I'm with Sim' here- we need to clarify if the get together is informal (like the last two) or a little more structured (suggestions were put forward last time). Why don't we go for the talk and chat afterwards next time, say, in a restaurant or function room where coffee and bikkies are provided? I'm happy to travel to Bankstown, but would still prefer Parramatta :)
Friday nights preferable.

hehe SIC to me is Snow-Info-Cimmunity

either way anything works

btw I feel Friday night is the start of my weekend :)

Please ignore all of my comments as Im unlikely to attend atm

Might be fun to play cash flow as well .. Other then I would prefer to do this in a function room or private room, instead of the main area of a restaurant or a pub. I personally would prefer Friday Night since I do not have to go to work the next day.

When discussing cashflow at the recent gathering in Parramatta, we agreed that cashflow should be kept separate - have a special gathering just to play cashflow. All that is required is someone to organise it - and I agree that a weekend would be best.

Nicholas,

Would you care to elaborate on why you prefer a private room?

Brains,

I'd assume that Nicholas's point may be because of the noise & crowded nature of most clubs - fairer to other patrons & us to take the cashflow game out of the noisy, busy bar.

And I'd support Nicholas's post on this :)
