Hi All,

I'd like to know which Property magazine that you people read to get to know the current trend of market value and financing tips ?

You forgot the other websites option.

I use Somersoft forum, and sites like Bloomberg and Yahoo Finance to try and get an overall view of "market trends" and conditions, rather than just a property centric view from property magazines and books.

Bluestorm, with all due respect, you left out 'Consolation of Philosophy' by Boethius, on the temporary condition of every development favorable in this life.

(Just joking around. You're one of the few gloomier commentators on this forum whose posts I read for insight. ;) )

LOL.

FYI: I am now reading and studying the following books:

Wealth Wisdom - Julian Dawson
Code:
http://www.investors.asn.au/reviews/books/?bid=295

and

Property Rich: Secure your financial freedom
Code:
http://www.investors.asn.au/reviews/books/?bid=301

if anyone have other suggestion that is helpful, please share it here.

in the next months there will be Stuart Zadel's Property seminar (July) and Cashflow (combined Property, shares, stock and Internet marketing) seminar (September)

Thanks.

I flick through both Your Investment Property and Australian Property Investor each month.

Read both and see which one you like more.

Somersoft has a lot of fantastic reading too, definitely worth sticking around.

I subscribe to API and occassionally buy YIP when I see something of interest on the cover. Other than that I read a lot on this forum and subscribe to way too many newsletters on property and investing eg
http://www.propertyobserver.com.au/

http://apm.com.au/MarketReports.aspx

http://www.propertyplanning.com.au/Newsletters/infront_2013_10_18

The monthly HTW review is well worth reading http://www.htw.com.au/

And SQM Research has a lot of useful info
http://www.sqmresearch.com.au/

There's also a good podcast but to be honest, at half an hour long I rarely get time to listen to it

One of the most underrated forms of information I feel is talking to a local pm

Once you find the suburb or area you wish to purchase in, call in and sit down w the local pm in a few different offices in the area

They wil guide you towards

Which property types are the most in demand and what tenants look for in a property
What streets to focus on and what to avoid
Options to improve rent yield etc etc

If you are intestate you can conduct this via telephone

You will also be able to vet potential managers while your being educated, however I generally just go for the tall blondes regardless of service cause that's the sort of shallow guy I am, just kidding ;):D

Also note there is a difference between a rea and a pm, the former you may never wish to talk to
