You Tube Videos Painting

I have done a couple of You Tube videos on painting of new houses,I am sure some people here might pick up a few tips if they are thinking of doing their own.
If you need something specific don't hesitate to ask and I will try and do it for you, time permitting.

I'm not one to stand around talking all day so right into it.
A peek inside the "Secret world" of a Professional Painter.

Thanks for the link,i like the item on "The-Happy-Painter" reminds me of when I was working and you go back too the tool box on the ute and the fumes from the pipe glue hit you in face on a hot day..

VIdeos run at 2-4x actual speed was this on purpose? Makes your commentary hard to understand
It was on purpose x 2 ,I am not much on commentary ,others have the knack for it ,I don't.
These are just some footage I have and I tried to package them so you can get the idea of what happens on the building site when no ones there.

Good videos mr painter. What would be the best paint to use on aluminium windows. I have old brown windows and want to spruce them up a bit or would I better off replacing them. I done one window with a colourbond touch up paint and it turned out good but not to sure how it will last.

When I first went to bunnings to get the paint the people at the paint counter told me to use a paint they recommended so I used it on a window and the next day you could start to peel the paint off. Now some of the paint is hard to get off. What can you recommend to get the paint off.

It is only 2 small windows so I might just replace them

Just in time! about to put the doors on at my place, only difference is mine are 4 panel and I've been using dulux aquanamel not enamel .

Not completely impressed with the aquanamel but whats done is done.

So only 1 coat of gloss per side?

Thanks for sharing.

Nice Vids!

Where do you buy the "professional" rollers and paint tray from?

Specialist store?

I assume they are a bit more expensive than the norm?

I would just clean them with thinners, tape them up and use a spraypack of the color you want.

That's the funny thing, the professional roller sleeve for doors is a $5 sleeve from bunnings,"Unipro",I buy them in a three pack for around $15,best roller sleeve ever for enamel,I just throw them away when I finish, don't even wash them up.Paint tray is purchased from the Paint store, the one I am using there is probably around $30 but any cheap one will do the same.

I wont use aquanamel cause it wont flow, there is one coat of undercoat on the doors, two on the edges, tinted the same color as the finish top coat,One coat of oil based enamel is all that is required, the doors look and feel very thick to the touch and you dont even need to use an expensive paint, trick is the penetrol in the paint and be generous with the paint.
PS Don't tell anyone

This is gold. I struggled with flow on aquanamel spraying my arcs, and around 16 doors. Got a good enough result in the end but it was effort and used a LOT of paint.

I just watched the one on Lintels. Had a quote by professional painter but a handyman turned up sooner (long story). This guy did a good job on downpipes and the one lintel he has done looks ok.

My concern is that he used the same paint as the downpipe (acrylic exterior). I am sure the professional painter recommended something else.

Also he is coming to do the job in bits and I am wondering how much temp humidity will effect the job ( he wanted to paint at 5 pm last night and I said no).

There is rust on some of my lintels also.

Any thoughts?

Sorry I haven't replied, been away for the week.
I would be using zink Phosphate on the lintels if you fear of rust,
The video here is the same principle,

Thinners dissolves old paint and gets it really clean for a coat of paint.
Just buy an all purpose thinners from bunnings, comes in a 1 or 4 litre tin, make sure you use gloves and don't let it drip on your good paintwork.

Turps wont work so forget about it.

Spray paint can just be a good quality (colorbond color) spray pack from the hardware store or similar.
