Not all corner block are the same.
I wouldn't want a set of traffic lights out the front of my place, nor one of those annoying blind pedestrian beepers going off everytime the lights change....(actually had a friend who rented aplace with same.....drove me nuts when I visited)....
Nor do I appreciate traffic high revving off from the lights or corner.
Nor the sound of two cars crashing in the intersection....
Nor skidding tyres.
Apart from that, for all the reasons mentioned above, backstreet corner blocks can be cool....
though always a good idea to grow thick perimeter landscaping for extra privacy.
and always nice to have 1 or 2 less neighbours....
but remember you have a neighbour less to share your fence costs with....
