Ajax 8th Jun, 2010 Geez, don't turtles have a bite strong enough to break large shells? Would be very careful putting my fingers too close. Have had them surface around me when surfing in Java (at Turtles) and in Krui in Sumatra. They surface about a metre away and have a good look at you.
