Why am I not surprised by the closed minded posts on Somersoft?
It is extremely common for the expat crowd.
Would these people likely be crying for a government handout to help with a home purchase? Highly doubt it.

Don't get me wrong. Luckily I make a lot, in the top 1% percentile of income and assets...
But I feel that the more I have, the more stress I have.. especially with budget announcements like today and the current state of the economy.

Are you intending to grow the business rapidly?
If yes to either of the above, I would advise against buying, but would suggest leasing.
In a good outcome scenario. Now in a bad outcome scenario or more than often not, the likely outcome scenario, what do you get?
A kid that moved out of home, no further education, in a debt trap, and set back 10 years in life or possibly forever...
If you kick your child out of the house at 18 or make him/she pay board, and let them know if they want to go to university they most support themselves as well as pay their own uni fees, what do you achieve?
