Colour coding - furniture and walls

Ha ha, I'm always on there too! Some of the homes/rooms are beautiful. It's nice to dream..... I think a stark black & white bedroom would not be very relaxing. You need some warmth in there. If you are not really into bold colour try tones like beiges, greys & silver with your dark floor...

Colour coding - furniture and walls

I dislike black furniture because it always looks dusty. It's important to get what you like & feel comfortable with because trends never last long. Take a look at the website Houzz Australia. You can even search for "dark floor" & I'm sure you will get lots of photos to inspire you.

    Need Ideas/Imagination

Not sure if this would even be allowed or feasible but what about some planter boxes to soften it a bit. I could see the yellow rendered part with flower boxes with some bright red geraniums, geranuims don't attract bees and are very hardy. Otherwise I have seen a childcare centre which has...

    Bathroom renovation advice

Thanks Angel & Bob, your feedback is much appreciated. The floor plan you see is the original one from 1972. Original owners I bought it from didn't make a lot of changes but when I first moved in I put in internal stairs as there was no way to access the lower floor except for external access...

    Bathroom renovation advice

Wow, thanks, possibilities I hadn't thought of! I like the European laundry idea. Just a question, I would have to relocate the laundry door somewhere to make a new bathroom entrance if the laundry was to become a bathroom as you can't have a toilet/bathroom opening on to a kitchen, there needs...

    Bathroom renovation advice

[/IMG] The last two homes I have lived in had large master bedrooms with an ensuite. I've lived in my current house for the last five years, it's a very small house without an ensuite. The house still has the original 1972 bathroom, it's so old its trendy again! But it's time to bite the...

The Most Disgusting House I Have Ever Seen

Went to one open home where I went to take off my shoes at the front door but my other half stopped me....good call! There was a cake on the kitchen bench with bites out the side of it like a rat had been eating it. There were numerous fish tanks that were black, full of slime & moss which had...

Dumping soil on our vacant block

This happened to me on a block also in the Hills Shire although it was quite some years ago. Builder on the block next to us had levelled the block and pushed all the surplus dirt onto our block, some thirty odd tonnes of it. We contacted the council & all they said at the time was "did you...

What would you do with this kitchen..

It's made by Rustoleum & called countertop transformations. I haven't used it but seen it demonstrated at Bunnings, it looks fantastic & quite easy to do. Changing the blind to a mocha roller blind was a smart move :)
