    Great children's films

This is a continuation of the current favourite films discussion started by topcropper from here. So here are some of my favourite/best children’s films, in no particular order: Live Action Films A Little Princess (Alfonso Cuaron, 1995, USA): This is a jewel of children’s cinema and a...

Melbourne July 2010 Somersoft Meeting - Port Melbourne

I'll have to miss my first dinner since I joined Somersoft :(. There's a free lecture that evening by a Nobel Economics laureate (Joseph Stiglitz) that I've been wanting to attend for weeks. :) The fact that this co-incides with a dinner in the West was entirely unplanned. ;).

Some lessons from past elections *Long post warning* - so grab your preferred beverage and settle in! I’ll take a stab at both “who” and “why”, Thorpey….I’ll state my rather tentative prediction upfront – Labor will be returned. The rest of this long post explains why (and if you’re not...

Melbourne June 2010 Somersoft Meeting Financial NYE - Glen Waverley

It's very considerate of you to arrange it just before the end of the financial year. It will bring forward the tax deduction I can claim :D. One for me, thanks. What about ex-lurkers and ex-forum newbies like me? Do I still count? ;)

    Vuvuzela's at the World Cup

It's even got the repeat sign included in the score! I can't wait for the knockout rounds, when we have the prospect of putting up with that drone during extra time and penalties.

    Retire on equity, how ?

It sounds similar to story no. 88 in Jan Somers’ "Building Wealth Story by Story". For those who aren’t familiar, it’s a great read, and available for purchase here. It contains 101 anecdotes on the good, bad and ugly of property investing (mostly it's good), collected by Jan Somers through...
