etrade.com(not etrade.com.au - seperate organisations) Open an account and trade in and out without currency conversion. A little bit of paperwork to open account but not too bad. Trades are USD$19.99 until > US$50K in account(cash/shares total) then drops to USD$9.99 I got sick of trying...

Looking to invest in Melton Vic

There is money to be made in suburbs like Melton. IMHO it is not in buying house and land packages on unit sized blocks and waiting for gains for the all the reasons stated around land etc. Someone will just come and build instead of buying yours in a few years. It is in the older properties...

    carbon tax repeal

Who is losing jobs? Public servants in the tax department!Climate bureaucracies that do nothing but circle jerk? A lot more jobs would have been lost and will continue to be lost due to the carbon tax operating in the production chain of everything produced in Australia. It's like an inverted...

    Microsoft Certification

Depends how relevant it is to the job at hand, I'm on the infrastructure side, not applications development but experience counts the most along with how the person interviews(handles questions/situations etc). In terms of certificate vs cert would depend on which one holds the most relevance to...

    Microsoft Certification

It's a competitive world out there. As someone who interviews and hires people in IT I would rank it as follows: Experience + Cert > Experience + No Cert > Cert + No Experience > No Cert + No Experience. The further to the left of the equation you sit the better. At least with no experience...

    2013 Election: Senate Vote

Voted yesterday and stood their for a minute wondering if i could really be stuffed filling out 97 boxes. Did it anyway, you were right, very annoying, especially as you cant fit the senate ballot paper open flat in the width of the polling booth space, so i was constantly flipping it over to...

    2013 Election: Senate Vote

According to their website(LDP) you can vote LDP in Vic, but below the line. Will be making up my own senate preferences. LNP in Lower House and LDP in Upper, looks like I'll be numbering boxes for a while on election day.
