    Actually this plumber didn't dig the hole. A previous plumber did the digging and stuffed up his job and left. We got another plumber to fix the problem, he fixed it but has left the hole... At least the first plumber did put some 'safety' fencing around the hole so tenants won't fall in.

    Thanks for all your comments. I think it is about protecting me and my family, not about whether I have anything to hide. It is the same as you wouldn't tell your work colleges your home address even though you are 'friends'.
