    Electric Underfloor Heating

Hi All, I’d like to hear all opinions(preferably from personal experience rather than hearsay :-)) re electric concrete slab underfloor heating as a primary source of house heating. We are thinking about putting an offer on house with that style of heating and this is the last unknown thing...

Peter Spann Strategy, anyone made it?

I disagree, that psychology vastly different. The psychology is actually very close. I do both. In case of covered calls I am mentally ready to sell the stock I have at the price I wrote a call. In case of naked put I am mentally ready to buy the stock I don’t mind to have at the price I wrote a...

2 bed apartment in Sydney, compared to Melbourne

Joining the question…. Melbourne inner suburbs certainly moved very strongly over the last 4-5 months. It got to the situation where agents don’t have a clue what the property will be sold for. Sydney still doesn’t look cheap compare to Melbourne, though it never was that close in terms of the...

    Fanta on carpet!!

Hi Jacque, Hate to disappoint you.:( I had fanta splashed around the carpet two years ago by tenants… I tried everything professionals carpet cleaners could offer – no luck. The intensity of the orange color decreased but it is still noticeable. I got $1400 bond for the damage.

    Ironical isn't it ..

Well, Ajax regrettably (as a Navra shareholder not as a client) I agree with you. The funds performed similarly in terms of returns, however the major difference is that Platinum outperforms MSCI AC World index by a very significant amount. I am a Platinum shareholder as well and their shares...

    Ironical isn't it ..

Hi Ajax, As @ 26/05/2006 the 1 year performance was 24.29% the 3 year figure was 17.31%. Information is from here http://www.2020directinvest.com.au/wealthtrac/FundProfile.cfm?APIRCode=NAV0002AU

    Ironical isn't it ..

SC, I am a bit surprised by your comment. Yes, fund lost about 2.5% in a last 30 days. Platinum International Fund (an outstanding manager) lost about 3 % in the same period, even they do sell short. Are there funds who didn’t loose money in the last 30 days? Are there traders who made money...

Who's Made it? - Share your Story for Inspiration!

Current situation is 87% property & 13% shares and funds. This is including PPOR. Current situation is 82.5% property & 17.5% shares and funds. This is excluding PPOR. I understand the portfolio is overweighed towards property but this is where I felt more comfortable especially in 2000...

What are you paying for your Variable rate?

Don’t call them, just go to the branch in person and talk nicely but firmly (no demands or threats). All you need to do is convince whoever you talk to at the branch to send a request to their pricing department.

What are you paying for your Variable rate?

I am not a newbie but didn’t look around at other banks deals lately. Thanks to this thread, I was made aware about 0.7% WBC discount. Similarly to the above example, I just let ANZ know about the situation and asked for the better deal. The discount was increased from 0.6% to 0.7% in three...

Living off Equity - is this still an option?

Could I ask who is the margin loan provider? Is this a true margin loan? Did you negotiate such a rate? M.

    More property verses shares.

Hi TC, Must say, I generally actually agree with you especially about TV shows and building cranes. What we agree to disagree is probably the specifics and interpretations of what and how to apply PE in real-estate. You are quite right that I disregard the general market PE (i.e...

    More property verses shares.

I commented before about uselessness (IMHO of course) of PE rations in realestate and now, to be honest, I can’t see what you see in the referenced article. The gap is actually widening (i.e more people thought shares are better a year ago) according to Wisest Place for Savings table(page 3)...

The Silence is Deafening ...Disappointed ... re cash bonds

Fair call SC. I must admit I am surprised with the silence too, especially on the Invested. The period clearly stated on the website. It is 5 years. http://www.navrainvest.com.au/index.asp?content=our_fund I guess this time frame is fairly standard and takes care of different...
