    Friendly reminder

Hey everyone, Here is just a friendly reminder to keep your things locked up around the house. Especially this time of year. I just found 2 people looking around inside my garage/shed which is detached from the house. Woofer woke me up as he heard the roller door open. I called the police...

    Unreliable tradies!

People always say good tradesman are hard to find. Its because they have their network of clients who are loyal and dont look for work. They build good relationships etc. Majority of the ones advertising and always chasing work are the ones left on the scrap heap

    Unreliable tradies!

This is coming from the point of view of a plumber. I dont advertise and never have. All my work is from word of mouth (which is the best form of advertising). Thing is with trades there are so many things that come up which make it so difficult to set certain times and dates. Say I currently...

    solar hot water problems?

Itll cost a little more to buy but it would def be my choice / recommendation. Luxury of not running out plus tubes to reduce costs dramatically.

    solar hot water problems?

Ill have to get back to you on price of the units. Both will be very similiar in cost to install Maintenance wise id suggest elec is cheaper and easier to fix. Only 2 parts in an elec system. A thermostat and heating element. Prob cost about $350 inc labour, materials and gst. Gas storage...

    solar hot water problems?

As bbmick said in warmer months you will very rearly use any gas. Being in qld the amount of times u need it boosted would be trivial imh. Could have 2 x 45kg bottles onsite so yrs and not use much. Piece of mind though So in that respect maybe elec is way to go. Save cost of renting bottles...

    solar hot water problems?

The elec booster should be left on 24/7. Now the pump is working, its using the tubes to heat. And they are very efficient at it. The booster just keeps the water at say 70 degrees. The tubes will heat that easily on nice winter days. Come cooler days /nights the booster will just top up the...

    solar hot water problems?

Im a plumber and have installed a couple of these in the canberra region. They work a treat here. Reading the start of the thread I instantly thought check the circulating pump though you have seemed to figure that bit out. The way the boosters work is like perp said. On a thermostat. The...
