Very much so, owners have agents literally knocking on their doors asking if they're thinking of selling. Houses are selling much quicker. People with a house worth $1M+ in Sydney visiting down there on weekends/holiday wouldn't blink at a sub $400k price tag.

There are areas that are a bit pov scum anywhere around that area, up to the coast near Nowra. Even Wollongong. I reckon it's good to know where the dodgy parts of any place are so you can avoid them. Depends where you look, about 3.5% according to dsrscore.com.au
