Thanks Jess, now I understand why the one that's caught my eye has been on the market for quite a while.

I was hoping that being on the Sunshine Coast, it would have been too humid to have to worry much about bushfires. But all that oiling is certainly a dream-killer! Looks like no Ewok Village for me :(

The real timber, for me, is what gives it its charm, so I would hate to clad. I would also hate to have to be paying to have it oiled every 5-7yrs, so I'll have to rule this style out I think.
