Just returned from my first trip to Bali on Friday! It is a great place to visit, will definitely be back one day, no point punishing the Balinese for the mistakes of their government and our citizens.

You're missing the point. I'll spell it out again - the poll refers to the Bali 9 - not the Bali 2. You can't point to this poll and say the majority support the death penalty. The poll should have asked "do you support the death penalty for the Bali 2. Yes or No".

As i said, it's a confusing and poorly written poll.

No I think it's very clear: "Should the Bali nine be granted clemency" - that's a very clear question to me. If it was meant to be referring to the Bali 2 getting the death sentence then it is a confusing and poorly written poll.

TMNT - read the poll question and tell me where it refers to the Bali 2 being executed. Actually, just tell me where it refers to the Bali 2 because I've read it quite a few times and it seems to be referring to the Bali 9.

Where? The poll asks if the Bali 9 should be given clemency, which means pardoned for their crime. It doesn't ask if the Bali 2 deserve to die (although I think that is what it was meant to ask - it's a badly worded and confusing question). Exaggerating this time or just making things up again?

Capturing someone and following through on a plan to kill them against there will is premeditated murder, no question about it. The only difference is it's is deemed 'lawful', which means the government has made a law saying we are allowed to kill people. A government changing the name of it to...

I think that's something we can all agree on. Over and out.

Thankfully your logic isn't shared by many. You should move to Syria, they're killing heaps over there at the moment for all kinds of crazy reasons, you'd love it.

Of course it is, the only reason they made the front pages of the newspapers for years is because they were about to die. When was the last time one of the remaining Bali group made the headlines? Rarely if ever, because they got a fair punishment for the crime. Getting the death penalty gave...

What a joke. That's exactly what happens we you use such an extreme punishment. It takes all the attention away from the crime and puts it onto the barbaric act of vengeance. If they got life in prison this sort of rubbish would never have happened. Another good reason why the death penalty is...

It was general comment about the death penalty. You can never only execute people that are 100% guilty because there is no such thing as 100% guilty. Contributing factors in every case. Mary Veloso was a low level drug importer just like everyone who gets busted. Ringleaders you call them...

Strannik you are embarrassing yourself. Once again you're making statements of fact that are completely false. No ice/meth labs in Australia? - open the newspaper or watch the news. They find them everyday.

Mary Jane Veloso. This is a perfect example why the death penalty is a joke. If she had been executed on Tuesday as planned you would all be saying how she got what she deserved and good riddance. Now it turns out she was set up after the ring leader came forward.

To be fair the one who said it was a mistake was mentally ill and according to his pastor didn't realise he was being executed until the he was walking to the firing line.

It's got nothing to do with sympathy for drug dealers, it's about having sympathy full stop. No one deserves a bullet through the heart, regardless of how stupid they are.

That makes no sense to me, the crime you have been committing is not punishable by the death sentence so how can the death sentence have an effect on the crime you've been committing? I think what your saying is all the media attention around this crime has made you think twice about using...
