A new app for the iPhone 3GS & Andriod that allows the user to locate nearby property development proposals just by pointing their mobile at a home, is likely to send shudders through potential vendors and landlords.

I just added the commbank property guide app on my iphone.

It shows you what the last price a house/houses were sold for. Quite interesting.

You can just put in a street, or a house number itself, and it tells you what price they were last sold for.

Interesting my next door neighbours father bought the house in 2007 for 385 and he sold it to his son in feb this year for 410.

It's a great app for finding all that stuff out. Dunno what ya do with the info, but it's handy to see the jump in prices over the years.

Very useful, but the privacy implications make me cringe. The info is public domain, but I don't know if I'd be very happy if someone takes a photo of my property and gets a heap of info that easily.
