Accounting Fees - what should I expect to pay

I have gone through a few accountants and now have one I'm happy with.

One simple piece of advice from this accountant has saved tens of thousands of dollars. So I'm happy. I'm not actually sure what they charge in comparison to others, but I'm am way ahead.

We do have two businesses, two private tax returns and an SMSF.

We pay $7000 per year and can get all the advice we want, except of course extraordinary items such as the takeover of a company listed on the ASX.

We have two trusts (farm and investment), SMSF, they also give me all advice on the business I am just starting.

It is not until the last six months that we feel we have got value for money and have been under this system for about 3 or 4 years now.
