Some banks charge a fee to release the title and dont return it until you request it. Anyone surprised???

It's been resolved.
It turns out that Titles haven't been issued since 1994 in QLD. So Homeside's demands weren't going to be met any time soon. We ended up contacting the people that were actually handling settlement and they knew what was going on and have since contacted Homeside and told them that they were wrong and didn't need the Title.

heh this thread is all too familiar with my parents sentiments when i first took out a gaurantor loan with Homeside.
In the end as per standard homeside procedures + alot of negotiating with the parents (thanks Aaron for coming out and having a chat with them) it was all agreed and the title was handed over to my solicitors to present at settlement.
Everything went smooth sailing!
Note: Never doing a family gaurantor ever again!!!
