Basic tax course

Hi All

I have 4 ip's and like to do my own tax , I would like to do a introduction to taxation course this will not increase my salary and is not connected to my job. But will I be able to deduct anyway as It will help me to obtain income from IP's and will be used for purpose of doing my tax ?
