Just got a building inspection done on a brand new/turnkey spec home, fully completed, building finished about 6 months ago.
They identified there was a crack in the garage concrete (the house is a single storey on a slab), 1mm x 2m in size.
Is this anything to worry about? If there were issues in the future would it be covered under the QLD BSA insurance for new homes? I guess there could be other cracks in the slab, but they could be obscured by the tiled floor and carpet.
I need to ascertain if it is just a superficial/normal thing I shouldn't be concerned about (I've lived in houses before with cracks in the driveways and garage) - but you know what the building inspections are like, they say any cracks identified should be inspected by a structural engineer to determine the significance! Can anyone put my mind at ease or tell me if theres something I should be doing about it?
