Buying land on the moon

I remmeber these scams years ago,

but this just popped up today

im totally confused, how can it be legit, yet a respected global company is doing it.......

It's a funny story. Apparently, Dennis Hope filed a declaration of ownership of the moon with the United Nations and the United States and Russian governments. The whole basis of selling the land now is that the declaration is legal. Personally, I would treat any certificate of "ownership" of land on the moon or mars as a novelty and not legally binding. If you read the declaration of ownership, it is hilarious!

I would like to buy 50 hectares and build slums for the ex holden workers, as the closure will mark the end of the world

funny comments!!!,

oops, so does that mean I should get a refund on the 40 I purchased for myself and other 'investors'????!!

This is probably through one of those marketing groups that flys you up to Brisbane, shows you around and then puts you under a lot of pressure to buy some dodgy off the plan townhouse 30% over market value. Then they fly the Brisbanites to Melbourne to flog the Melbourne overpriced OTP rubbish.

If they can get me a seat to the moon and back, I'd be tempted. I wonder if they're flogging Earth real estate to aliens as well?

I dunno. No schools, no public transport.

However..the views would be great!

Not sure about the 'dark side' of the moon, though. Sounds like outer western suburbs.

a guy at work has a photo of his block of land (on the moon) up on the wall at work still. He thought it was great, scam or not, he thought it was worth $50 haha.

I also have some friends that bought land in ???? so they can be called a duke/earl. haha
