I want to clean my carpets after a dog and a cat left some nice pressies for me and I have a choice of renting the cleaner from a supermarket or asking a pro to come in and do the cleaning...

Which is the better cleaning method?

I have got carpets done so-called-professionals, but the quality of work has not been very good. If you time and patience, better to do it yourself or choose a reputed cleaner. Don't bother about contacting people who drop their contact details in your mailbox.

I use the shopping centre ones for home, but have the IP's done professionally. I can see no difference between the two in respect of how clean the carpet is.

There is however a huge difference in the price!

I recently just hired a carpet cleaning machine from the local supermarket also, and found the result really good at half the price.
