Continuing to "keep up with the Jones' "

Once you realise that most people are just putting on a show and keeping up appearances, how you appear to others becomes completely unimportant.

Unfortunately, its the Joneses and their competitors who find everyone else to blame for why they can't afford this and that (in particular, a HOUSE).

Most stock up on depreciating "assets" because theyre cheap but add up to lots of money in the end, because theyre scared to invest, or dont know enough about it,
So true want2bwealthy. After all, people don't have to be investors to live within their means.

The bar on 'average' is raised constantly. How many of us were raised in a two car household? A home with separate bedrooms for each child? Those are now pretty average. And on and on it goes.

Eyes on the prize. And don't wander the mall. In. Get groceries. Out. :D

Yes, the bar on "poor" is consequently continually rising, too! Poverty is apparently now a relative thing, and one can have two cars, a 3 bedroom home, kids in private school, plasma with DVD, and apparently still be considered "poor"!

One of the reasons I no longer support some charities who support Australia's "poor".
