Cost of lawn mowing - West Sydney

I have a 680m block with a 3 bed house on it including driveway and small patio. I was just charged $170 for mowing the place by someone selected by the PM. It prob hasnt been done in 6 weeks so could of been quite long. It seems steep to me.

What rates are others getting in the area?

For a franchised mob that is about right.

For a one man operation you would be looking at circa $88-$120

We pay $50 for an 830 sqm block in the blue mountains. I knew it was a good price and is discounted as he does it at the same time as the next door neighbours... I wouldn't pay $170.

Pay that 3 times and you could buy yourself a lawn mower.. I wouldn't be happy paying. Did the invoice say how many hours the job took?

Got a bloke that does all our lawns and garden maintenance for our PPOR or $90/fortnight, so $170 for lawns only seems steep......that said, our bloke is over every 2 weeks so keeps on top of everything.

I pay the local guy $25 for a small front yard, cause im a lazy so and so.

I'm currently paying $45 for around 80sqm of lawn.

I owe the contractor a favour since before I moved, I was his neighbour for about 5 years and he was mowing the front lawn for nothing.

It was anticipating a comment like that. My attempt to divert it was to use the term lawn rather than grass. It seems I failed.

I just paid $924 inc GST but that was for 10 acres. Took the guy 10.5hrs
