Council powerless when the perpatrator resists

Looks like if you simply snub the council and their orders you get away with anything.

This guy is running at least 10 units as backpacker accommodation. the backpacker we are employing stays at one and is aware of 10 units with the likelyhood that there are more.

It is all likely that he is not paying any income tax on any of the rent he is collecting at $120-150 per bed per week.

Here is one of the adds on gumtree. This is a direct advert by the illicit operator but many times it's the actual backpackers who is leaving who can leave without penalty if they have someone to replace themselves.

Cheers

If you want to take it further you could tell the Telegraph, they are running a campaign at the moment.

You could also try ACA or TT, they are also onto it.

Has somebody told Council and Council said they weren't interested, or is your point simply that Council aren't actively seeking out these operators?
