defective product, returns advice

Hi everyone,

Just opened up our china vanity top for installation. not happy, there is a few scratches on the glazing, very visible.

Wish to exchange but this product was delivered over 2 months ago.

We hadn't opened the box until today because of delays in renos.

I have the plumber who opened the box and project manager as witnesses.

Just want to be prepared for the denial from the shop where I purchased it from

Any suggestions on approach?

If they absolutely refuse, what are my options for recourse? Consumer affairs?

Other options? Patch up but how?

Would be loathe to repurchase, this would cost $675 alone.

Thanks.

Take photo's.
Try to get as much of the packaging in the pics as possible to show it has not been installed and used for 2 months.

Present the facts to the vendor.
Take it from there.

How did you buy it, from a retail store or online?
Online will be more hassles to sort out a solution.

thanks.

will take photos today

got it from a shop called Bourne Bathrooms.

In case I cannot return it, does any one know how to fix it? is the chip in the glazing dangerous from a "lead" point of view? I heard vanity tops that are made in China contain a lot of lead.
