can depreciation be apportioned on a weekly/fortnightly/monthly basis and added to your tax deductions towards your salary or is it only payable as a lump sum come tax time.

Its added to your total annual deductions, then you can receive it back through your ITWV weekly, fortnightly, monthly - however often you get your payg income.
