Family holiday accommodation in Melbourne?

Hi All,

We're going to Melbourne for a few days for a holiday at the end of Feb and we're looking for some reasonably priced accommodation (<$200/night is what I'm aiming for). Our three most important criteria are:
1. it must have two bedrooms (so we can get the kids to sleep without us having to go to bed too!),
2. be near a tram/train to get to the city, and
3. it should have a kitchenette of some kind.

The closer to the CBD the better, but that's not really important. Does anyone have any suggestions? The best I've found so far is this: http://www.armadaleapartments.com.au/. At about $160/night it seems OK.

Thanks.

John.

Most excellent. For some reason I didn't think to look at wotif. Looks like plenty of choice there. Thanks GoAnna!!

Hi johnnyb

My favourite site for holiday accomodation is www.ozstays.com but when you go to the site make sure you click on the graphics version. You can get a Docklands waterfront apartment for $190 per night. Anyway plenty to browse so good luck!.

Never been here but could try http://www.questeaststkilda.com.au/
It looks like it's in the price range, close to bus, train, trams and easier access to St.Kilda beach area by transport. Pictures look good but don't they always?

Armadale isn't a bad area just that about every 2nd train doesn't stop there as they are express Caulfield to South Yarra. In saying this 2 train lines run through it so you'd expect the odd one to stop :) I just remember as a youngster wanting to stop @ Armadale on occasions and it was a pain getting on and off trains so 1 stopped there.
