Finding and deciding on a Settlement Agent?

Whats the best way to go about this.

Do i pick a local REA in regards to property?

Can you save money by picking one over the other?

I have used LDL settlement services a few times.

There was a good thread on here with alot of perthite recommendations but i cant seem to find it.

Go with a recommendation from a broker. Bad settlement agents make brokers life hell and the good ones make it easy for the broker.

Using one that's a referral from the REA could be a conflict of interest.

I use MDH Legal who have saved my ar$e a number of times. Their conveyancing is done by conveyancers but the company is run by a Lawyer who will step in should you need legal help.

Quite possibly. I find the price of a settlement agent is nothing when compared the price of a whole deal. The $1000-1500 is pennies compared to the hundreds of thousands for a site.

But you don't have to use them, you asked for recommendations and I gave mine. If you want a cheaper one then there are many of them around.
