Hey everyone, newby here! Just a question about home insurance...

My partner and I have just brought an investment property in Loganlea, currently under contract...so we need to get a cover letter from an insurance company. Can anyone suggest some good insurance companies? We dont need contents insurance.

We were thinking of going with Suncorp...but haven't looked too much into it.

Any help is much apreciated!!

You can get quotes here but be aware that not all policies are equal. Personally, I'd use an insurance broker to source both building and landlords insurance, as an insurance broker knows (or should know) all the pros and cons of the various policies. We amateurs can't hope to match their knowledge through our own research.

Also, be aware that unless you've varied the standard contract, in QLD the property is at YOUR insurance risk from 5pm of the day after contract signature, ie well before settlement. So get a policy ASAP!

We dont need contents insurance.

Mmmmm you probably DO need contents insurance actually. This covers the carpets and floor coverings, window dressings, aircon, etc. Unless your new IP doesn't have these things
