Checking the auction results and noted 4 Wattle St Russell Island.

Gotta be a mistake. Realestate.com had already removed it but Domain was a bit tardy:

A quick RP Data search identified the owner but showed the mailing address as C/O Gadens solicitors. Another quick search and all was answered:

Plenty of bargains around. I'm beginning to re-think this whole auction thingy.
 
Is that a typo? I thought in a recovery situation the bank set a reserve based on their valuation (which can often be under market but not by that much??) and then would pass the property in if not reached.

Might have to start going to auctions again....
 
Bathroom looks like a real mancave,there are a few like that on lamb island also,after the murder a few months back,it's a place to go for a walk around
before you buy..
 
The murder was actually on Macleay Island. It seems that since the police station opened on Russell a couple of years ago that a lot of "ferals" moved from there to Macleay.

I love Russell Island. It is like a little country town only a short ferry ride from Victoria Point. The bird life is gorgeous. Having said that I myself wouldn't live there, but I do like to visit to keep an eye on whats going on.

We do have a block of land on Russell that we can't decide whether to build on now or just sit for a bit longer.
 
It's on the low side, but there have been quite a few low sales over the last 6 - 12 months. You just need to be prepared to put in the effort to bring them up to rentable standard.

I actually see the land prices as potentially being up at the moment. Having said that its the listed for sale prices I'm looking at , not sold prices ;)

We bought our block as a gamble. Just to hold and see what happens.
