Landlord + Building + Contents Insurance Cairns (Trinity Park)

Hi All,

I'm in the process of sourcing landlord and building insurance for a house in Cairns that will be a PPOR in 12 months or so.

I've tried about 15 different online quotes and if I can even get to the stage of them giving a quote and not being excluded as the underwriter does not cover the area they all seem to be at least $10k+. Surely there must be cheaper?

I was expecting the insurance to be expensive, but that much?

Anyone who has property in Cairns - who are you insured with? And please tell me it's less than 5 digits!

Hmmm, it would appear that RACQ have building insurance (no landlord) for $2,800 or building and contents (for PPOR) for $2,400 which begs the question - why are all the others a lot more expensive than RACQ where RACQ seem to have the same coverage, if not more.
