RIP my friend

Just found out that that guy who fell to his death in SA a few days ago while rock climbing, and whose body took a while to recover

was a distant friend of mine, but more importantly a close friend of a good friend of mine......

and I literally spoke him to a few weeks ago about his sick dad, who didnt have long to go

he was mid 30s

I'm sorry for your loss, and for the loss of your friend.

I had a similar realisation that life is precious when I attended the funeral of my friend who died while riding his motorbike... I tell you, watching his pregnant wife hold onto the hand of their 3year old son and tip sand onto his grave was absolutely heart wrenching.
