Music to sell a house too... Suggestions appreciated

The Sound of Silence.

:D

Actually , Bridge over troubled water has made it on to the list , I had Diana Kralls version of walk on by but have given it the chop and also " this Masquerade " George Benson , might also be giving the wrong message .

One song that has made it to the list is The Carpenters " we've only just begun " . There is a story behind that song . Originally Richard Carpenter was commisioned by a Bank to write a song for an add campaign , just one verse , but he liked it so much he wrote the whole song and they released it .

Many builders display homes I've been in have had calming music playing through speakers in various rooms - I liked it in preference to silence

Music at shopping centres and within stores etc is done for a reason and there's probably a great psychological reason as to why its done :D

If you like Diana Krall and Norah Jones, then Sarah Maclachlan's

'In the Arms of an Angel' should be right up there, a soft, slow song

I do like shania and savage garden , but not quite what I'm looking for .

I would stay away from a lot of the suggested songs... very Weddingy or funeraly... you may have someone Loving the house ready to grab an offer sheet and all of a sudden the song that played at there parents funeral comes on... This could be interpreted a number of ways.. But to be on the safe side and not rule out potential buyers, I would wont something not very mainstream/ recognizable ... JMO

You can overthink things . We have two works of art by the most awarded Torres Strait artist in Australia Denis Nona . He's won the Telstra award twice , only second indigenous artist to do that . On display in most major galleries in Australia . The stylist walked in and loved them .

Last year he was charged and convicted of a crime dating back to the 90's .....

There was a stink in the press when it was discovered that the Parliament House had art work of a convicted .........on display and I understand they were removed .

Should we take them down on the off chance that someone recognises the artist and thinks we shouldn't have them on display.

Anything however remote can trigger memories in the wrong person . Charles Manson blamed the Beatles song Helter skellter for committing mass murder ..

Okeee, hows about easy listening jazz by the greats John Coltrane (saxophone) and Miles Davis (trumpeter)?

Not many people recognise the artiste but these pieces are pure genius and most people will have heard these tunes sometime in their lives. Classy jazz.

John Coltrane - Say it (Over and over again)

Miles Davis - It never entered my mind

Without Google, I would not know he had been convicted, or what for - I may just have considered the art - which is not my cup of tea anyhow

I know you've all been hanging out to hear my choices

In my studio , I'm going to have four songs on rotation , Sl more esoteric , Playing softly

Bali Run by Four play
My Heart with you by the Rescues - ( If you're into music and haven't heard of this band check them out )
Morning by Al Jarreau
A Mi Manera ( My Way ) by the Gypsy Kings

Very softly in the family room
Moondance - Van Morrison
More than Words - Extreme
Just the way you are - Billy Joel
What a wonderful world - Louis Armstrong
When you say nothing at all - Ronan Keating
My Baby just cares for me - Nina Simone
Summer Breeze - Seals and Croft
Home - Michale Buble
Fly me to the moon - Frank Sinatra
We've only just begun - The carpenters
Come away with me - Norah Jones
You've got a friend - Carole King
Don't know why - Norah Jones
Smooth Operator - Sade

Several songs didn't make the cut because their dynamic range was too high or soft.

Thanks for the suggestions  and the comments . ;)
