name still on title

Approx 8 years ago my brother bought my half share of an IP. He had the other half. We used the same conveyancer for the sale. I paid the bill. Assumed coveyancer did his job The sale was included in my tax return and I paid CGT.
I don't know what brother did, if he paid stamp duty etc.

Brother has asked for the title. We said see the conveyancer (now retired) we don't have it.

I just paid online for a copy of title and my name is still on it.

What happens now?

Did you keep copies of documents? I guess the property had never been mortgaged had it?

Doesn't the ownership per title appear on things like council rates notices?

I pay land tax in Vic and this IP never appears on it. So I assume the SRO knows that I don't own it.

I will ask him if the rates notices he is receiving are in two names.

My half was mortgaged. I assumed ANZ would have handed the title over at settlement.

In terms of seeking legal advice. Is this my brother's issue to follow up?

Easy solution - return his cash.
