Hi all,

Just received a quote to install a whirly bird, repaint bathroom ceiling (flaky & mouldy) and fix a cornice. Was quoted $1595! Labour component was 20hrs @ $55.

I nearly fell off my seat! This is way more than I expected... :eek:

Can anyone recommend a local handyman?

Get another quote.
Whirlybirsd cost $100-150 + install 2 hours max.

Bathroom. Easy to just sheet over and put up new cornice, short day + gyrock $400 + paint 2 hours ?

It pays to shop around. Found a tradie who will paint the mouldy/peeling bathroom ceiling, fix a cornice in one of the bedrooms and paint the front door for $540.

Still need to organise the whirly bird...
