Not too steeply sloping land, Pole house

I everybody,

We found a block of land which is not very steep but certainly sloping site. Not many trees on the site thought.
The asking price is around 270K for 1200m2 around Brisbane area.

We love the idea of building a pole house but we have no idea where to start.
Anybody has an rough idea of the building cost including excavation/earth moving, etc..?

We are looking into a basic timber pole house with 4bed rooms and 2 bathrooms, low-set (maybe with few steps if necessary).

Cheers,

Suggest that you contact some custom builders with experience in that area or similar terrain, and get a quote. Custom builders are more likely to use stumps that work with building on a sloping block, so won't just dig a hole at a colossal price and bury a house in it. If you do get a quote on a house from one of the Volume Builders in the area, (mainly they don't want a block that has too much slope) be aware they don't put site costs usually into their initial quote, and they always use concrete slab so will not maximise the useability of the block. In Melbourne with Volume Builders generally you can take the list price and add 20% for site costs. then if you have a block with up to say a metre of slope, you'll get maybe $25,000 minimum in additional costs. If you get some quotes from respected Custom builders in your area, you'll have a good chance of getting a realistic idea of what your project will cost you.
