% number of non-paying tenants

Does anyone know what the number of non-paying tenants is as a % of total? When I say non-paying, I mean those that have had notices to vacate served on them. I'm particularly interested in VIC, but Australia as a whole would be of interest too.

I can't find this info on the internet by doing a general search.

Grateful for any info.

I don't think anyone keeps an accurate record of things like that.

The closest way I can think of coming up with a rough figure is to compare the number of applications for termination based on rent arrears through VCAT for a year, and then perhaps the number of tenancies in the state?

I imagine the figure is very low.

Generally PM's are aware of their own % but not as a state wide. I can tell you exactly what percentage of my tenants are currently non-payers by your definition but I couldn't tell you the percentage state wide .
