odds of a blue sky in Beijing

Yeah Shenzhen pollution is dreadful... and its a similar story around Ningbo.

The good thing about HK now is that they have virtually eliminated the spitting in the streets (after the sars/bird flu problems). Cant say the same for the mainland though.

I only spend a few weeks a year there, so my experiences are limited i guess. Im only basing it on what i see.

been to Shenzhen, beijing, tungshen (spelling) in winter.
most of the non blue sky in the main citys was from fog, i had no problem breathing even in sub 0deg temps.

up north at tungshen (where the massive earthquake was a long time ago) it was clear blue sky, same as the great wall.

in regards to the stats on deaths, of course a country like that would have the most, one of there citys has more than 3 times our population!!!!! they also smoke and drink alot and they do live till an old age.

I actually cant waite to go back
