Anyone have a view on Port Macquarie?

Bug bucks pouring into the Pac Hwy will be good for demand over short medium terms but what about long term?

Anyone have property there?

As all the Pacific Highway south of Port Macquarie is dual carriageway i'm not sure that the recently announced road upgrade will make much difference. Port seems a fairly slow economy, lot of unemployment/underemployment. If Essential Energy reduces its workforce in Port that will have a negative effect.

There are four projects now underway between port and coffs - 2-3 years work about 2 billion.

More about the short term boost the highway. My own experience and those of my peers has been we have had to pay a premium for accommodation in places like coffs and ballina whilst working on these jobs.

Sounds like the long term prospects aren't so good though?
