Port Pirie

Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone here has any local knowledge of the Port Pirie area? We have our eyes on a few properties there, but unsure if there is much difference between PP south, solomon town, risdon park, PP west. We'll be driving up for a look this weekend but any advice/suggestions/what to avoid on the area would be great.

solomon town - Older timber/iron clad houses, close to Pirie River

risdon park,- new subdivisions and new houses, located away from the main street and the lead smelters

PP west - Older timber/iron clad houses, close to main street and close to the lead smelters, I think there was a time when pasminco paid to have ceilings vacuumed to get rid of the lead dust.

Pirie has got alot going for it with Roxby workers, but if I was working in Roxby and wanted to set up base I would look at the small acreages near the foothills, ie Napperby and Nelshaby, only 7kms away.

Also, check for 100yr flood levels.
