Pitfalls are the quality of the tenants in a permanent park. Less effort in a non touristy type park but mostly white trash. I know because I grew up in them. And recently travelling stayed in a few that still have permanents and it hasn't changed. Drugs, mental health issues, pedophiles, violence, all the good stuff you find in the grungy boarding houses too. Some are so bad DOCS and the charities have a set day a week they are there handing out advice and care packages. I know this because my Dad has spent his whole life in them. For my money I'd go a tourist park filled with grey nomads and their own vans although much more hands on work.
