Question for IT gurus

Hi IT people

I've just got myself a sexy fujitsu sub-notebook with wifi :D

If I want to print wirelessly to my old printer (which just has a parallel port and cable. Can I just get one of these:

The D-Link DP-311P is a wireless Wireless Print Server for Parallel.
The DP-311P is an 802.11b-compliant wireless Print Server that supports both infrastructure or Adhoc wireless modes. With the DP-311P you have the ability and convenience of sharing a printer beyond the wired network..

Or do I need a router thingy? Ie when it says "ad hoc wireless modes" does that mean my wifi notebook just talking directly to the printer via the Wireless Print Server plugged into my printer where the parallel cable goes?

Thanks

Nigel,

Why not splurge on a new wi-fi printer as well? ;)

But that wouldn't be frugal now would it ;-)

it ain't broke as opposed to the old Acer travelmate I had which was quite literally falling to bits (altho I'm sure I was saved from worms by it's obsolecence ;) who's writing viruses for windows 98 these days
