South Yarra apartments

Hi all,
First time long time - after lurking for a while and digesting your (often hilarious) advice I have changed my high 400K IP plans from a villa in Footscray to a 2BR apartment in South Yarra (in a block of 12 or less). Hope I am not dreaming here but that is the plan at this stage.
My query relates to a quick rental search I have just done on 2 BR apartments in SY - there are pages and pages of them! The rental prices all seem high enough but I worry about vacancy rates and how long it generally takes to let a standard 2BR apartment in SY. Are you able to provide any advice on this? Also any advice on what makes such an apartment get snapped up quickly?

RIng up and talk to a few PM's in the area ( not just one or two )

They will be uptodate with what is going on and you will get a feel for what is going on

You want the older, boutique stuff in South Yarra. You won't get an older style 2 bedder in a small block for under 600k though.
