Yeh Doveton is a very crap area. Melton, there is lots of land surrounding and new developments. Posts from people on here suggests there investments in Melton have not done well fro CG recently.

Best is to do some searches for suburbs using this forum and read up on areas to get an idea of Melbourne.

Hi Cadence,

Doveton: lower socio-economic suburb. Pretty far SE of Melb. If you're thinking about the price range and a house, at least try Dandenong (close to a train station and could be going through change) or Frankston (large land component but much further south).

So have you decided whether you're wanting a 2BR unit/apartment in CBD?
Or more a house further out?

(Or are you planning to acquire 2 IPs in Melbourne? )
