Wise politicians talk to their audience.

No matter how smart they are, if they don't connect with their audience (who may not be the people in the physical audience), they don't stay in power.

Surely a politician who is able to talk to his or her audience is much smarter than one who is intelligent, but does not engage.

I meant to say what this guy said is not really productive as far as progress, moreso than the intelligence factor, in that he certainly did not do a good job of backing up his idea that he is NOT an extremist type.

Sounds pretty extremist to me, and at the end of the day I know which side I`d rather be in sympathy with, but certainly Bush is not even close to worthy of his position.
