Good article, Stuart; thanks. It certainly reflects my experience with a new loan + a couple of re-fi's since the start of March.
I agree that people should try & borrow before they need to & lock in some equity at higher LVRs than they might otherwise get in the near future.

I have also noticed the "fine toothed comb" questions + supporting documentation that's never been asked for before. Some of it has really been laughable, but like any dealings with a lender I guess it's a case of "Do you want the $ or not?" Who knows how many hoops they will add (and then set fire to, and then make smaller, before asking you to jump through)?
Have also had a valuer admit that they were just "taking off 10%" on everything for bank vals now. :eek: Don't know if this was just on re-fi's.
